What Beat do I Live In?

To learn what police beat you're in, check the Police District Locator.  Enter your address and the map will show:

  • what policing area you're in,
  • what beat you're in,
  • the name and meeting address of the local NCPC,
  • dates and times of the meetings,
  • the name and email of the Neighborhood Services Coordinator (NSC)
  • an address where you can reach your beat's Community Resource Officer (CRO)

The monthly crime statistics for April 2020, for beats 12Y and 13X, are now available on https://rockridgencpc.com/,  under Resources > Crime Stats and Maps > Rockridge Crime Trends 2019-2020.  Here’s a direct link to the page:

Crime in the pandemic in these beats is definitely down.  April saw a total of 58 reported crimes in both beats, 39 in 12Y, 19 in 13X.  This is the lowest count for both beats since February 2018.

Unfortunately, the only category that’s up is Crimes against the person – robberies and sexual assaults in 12Y (from 8 to 11) and threatening phone calls in 13X (from 0 to 2).  Property crimes dropped a little in 12Y (19 to 17) and more than doubled in 13X (from 4 to 10).  Our eternal bugaboo, Property crimes (auto), dropped from 33 to 6 in 12Y (it was 78 in January!) and from 7 to 4 in 13X (half of January’s value).   Our Community Resource Officer thinks this is because people are not parking to dine any more, they just stop to pick up food.  Quality of life crimes (all vandalism) dropped by half in both beats (10 to 5 in 12Y, 4 to 2 in 13X).  No crimes were reported in the Other category.

We’ve added a new category, Pandemic related crimes – 13X got the only one of these, “REFUSE/ETC TO COMPLY WITH QUARANTINE/DISINFECTION ORDER/ETC.”  We thought we should track this.

If you see, or know about, a crime in your neighborhood, please report it to OPD.  If you don't tell them, they don't know.
