If you are interested in the private security contracts which were crowdfunded last November with VMA Security, and would like to know the current status, plan to attend the April 10 meeting of the Greater Rockridge NCPC. We will have speakers from Safer Rockridge, the non-profit which has been formed to manage the contract, and we hope to have a representative from the current security firm under contract, Premiere Protective Services. Bring your questions and join us at our regular meeting.

KALW News has created an hour long video documentary on how 911 works, and doesn’t work, in Oakland. I’ve been listening to audio excerpts the last couple of days on the radio station, and this is a fascinating account, well worth an hour of anybody’s time who is interested in the subject.
